Alumina-Silica Insulation
Type AX Moldable ½Ç¸®Ä«¸ô´õºí 1260C ¿ë
GENERAL INFORMATION
ZIRCAR Alumina-Silica Insulation Type AX
Moldable is a putty like material consisting of alumina-silica fibers dispersed
in a sticky water based refractory binder. It exhibits excellent adhesion
and insulation properties. AX Moldable is characterized by its high strength,
low shrinkage, and resistance to most molten aluminum alloys up to
1260°C(2300°F).
AX
Moldable is useful to obtain a hard surface coating, bond alumina-silica fiber
based insulation products to themselves and to form complex shapes. It is
readily shaped into complex forms using molds & hand building techniques or
applied to surfaces.
When applying a coating or building monolithic structures, AX
Moldable is best applied in thin layers (up to 1/2" thick) and at room
temperature. This ensures maximum adhesion and accommodates drying shrinkage.
Once placed, the material should be allowed to dry prior to applying the next
layer. It can be air dry or forced dried with an electric heating device or low
gas flame.
Alumina-Silica Insulation Type AX Moldable can be used to make a cement suitable to bond fibrous insulations such as
Alumina-Silica Insulation Type ECO-1200B to itself or other similar materials.
This tenacious cement is easily prepared by combining AX Moldable and hot
water.

Maximum use temperature is dependent
on variables such as stresses, both thermal and mechanical, and the
chemical environment that the material
experiences. |
